Many Seminole residents see a chiropractor for regular spinal adjustments, but we have found that some folks are still skeptical about chiropractic care. We have a long-standing history in the industry and want to help you understand the benefits of maintaining spinal health. Part of that is debunking myths about what we do.
Myth #1: If You Start Treatment, You Will Have to Keep Going
Many people dismiss the help of a chiropractor because they are under the misconception that if they begin treatment, it will always be necessary. The thought of medical bills from the never-ending appointments keeps individuals from benefiting from the care their spine so desperately needs. We understand our patients are on a budget, so we will work with you from start to finish. We will begin by creating a treatment plan that targets your specific needs. This plan will include an estimate of how many appointments it will take to improve your condition so that you can prepare accordingly.
While chiropractic care isn’t necessary for the rest of your life, many of our Seminole patients have found that they feel better overall by scheduling periodic sessions. There are absolutely no drawbacks to maintaining your spinal health.
Myth #2: A Chiropractor Isn’t a Real Doctor
Before a chiropractor can practice in Seminole, they must complete a demanding education. To receive a Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree (DC), an individual has to:
- Finish their classroom education, which involves many hours of examination and study.
- Treat real patients in a clinical setting for their residency under the supervision of licensed practitioners.
- Take and pass four national board exams.
- Pass exams for the state in which they wish to practice.
Like other providers of healthcare, we undergo national testing, licensing, and receive regular reviews. It’s important to us that you feel comfortable about your visit; we are happy to answer your questions and increase your understanding of how we can help.
Myth #3: You Can Get the Same Results by Cracking Your Own Back
If this myth were true, there would be no need for chiropractors. Consider the extensive training discussed above; can you truly achieve the same results just by twisting around in your chair? Joints are sensitive by nature and should be adjusted properly. By taking matters into your hands and resisting proper treatment, you risk making the pain worse. You can aggravate your joints and delaying will only allow discomfort to continue or increase.
At Coastal Chiropractic in Seminole, assisting our patients is our priority. Our chiropractor, Dr. Marc J.
